Dr. Kamal, Chief Patient Officer of the American Cancer Society, will deliver the 2024 Keynote Address at the 11th Annual Caring for the Human Spirit Conference and Westberg Symposium. In his role at ACS, Dr. Kamal drives coordinated efforts to accelerate progress against cancer through the organization's patient, caregiver and healthcare professional activities.
Judy Long is an outpatient palliative care chaplain and educator with UCSF Division of Palliative Medicine. Judy has developed and teaches courses in sustainable caregiving for care partners of people living with neurologic illness, resiliency for people living with neurologic illness, as well as clinician self-care for those who serve them. She also provides training in emotional balance and self-compassion.
Dr. Childs is a Professor and Chair of the Department of Bioethics and Medical Humanities at the Mercer University School of Medicine in Macon, Savannah, and Columbus Georgia. He is a CPE Diplomate Supervisor and Diplomate Pastoral Psychotherapist with CPSP. His PhD is in ethics and moral psychology and he completed his studies with pioneer ethicist Paul Ramsey and Princeton University and pastoral theologian Seward Hiltner at Princeton Seminary.
Rev. Hull is a CPSP Diplomate in Clinical Pastoral Supervision and the former Associate General Secretary of the College of Pastoral Supervision & Psychotherapy. He served as the Chair of the Commission on Accreditation of Pastoral & Psychotherapy Training and as the Director of Pastoral Care and Clinical Pastoral Education Training at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. Born in Belfast, Northern Ireland, amid political unrest and sectarian violence, George relates that he is unapologetically ecumenical. In light of that, George served as President of Cairdeas, a community group committed to peace and reconciliation within the Irish context. He earned his Dip.Th. from the Queen’s University of Belfast, Northern Ireland, and a Th.M. from the New Brunswick Theological Seminary, New Brunswick, New Jersey.
